About
Alas Kedaton :
Built in 17th century, this
impressive and spacious temple is surrounded by a wide moat, creating
the sensation of standing in the middle of a lake. The temple
itself has three ascending courtyards, each representing an increasing
level of perfection in the Bali Hindu cosmos. Later, a
visit to Alas Kedaton Holy Monkey Forest, where hundreds of "tame"
and very mischievous monkeys live in the forest surrounding the
temple. The final stop of the day will be at the dramatic Tanah
Lot sea temple. This is one of the splendid temples in Bali. Perching
atop an enormous rock, it is completely surrounded by the waters
of the Indian Ocean during high tide. Dont miss this opportunity
to watch the sunset over this temple, pictured above.
About Taman
Ayun :
The forecourt of the temple is large and spacious. A big tree
grows at the center. The temple complex is surrounded by a wall
of red brick constructed in the traditional way, without mortar.
By rubbing one stone against the other, a fine powder crumbles
from surface layers. When water is added to it the stones can
be simply stuck together. A split gateway on the west side leads
to the central courtyard. A second, closed gate way with a three-tiered
roof on the west give way to the inner court, in which 16 shrines
are to be seen. Right in front of the gateway is the prasada and
behind it a square pedestal with 54 little stone seats. These
are shrine for the satya, the servants, and facing them one shrine
together in the south are the three mekel satya, their leaders.
Drive to MENGWI
and then to the spectacular TANAH LOT temple on its rocky outcrop
in the sea. This tour is adjusted to coined with the sunset (weather
conditioned).

About
Tanah Lot Temple :
About 20 km west of Denpasar on the main highway, one arrives
at the town of Kediri, where a large sign at the main intersection
announces a turn-off to the southwest toward Pura Tanah Lot -
the famous seaside temple to the south. Tanah means earth and
lot means south or sea (usually written lod) thus something like
'Temple of the Earth the Sea" is intended. It is actually
constructed atop a large, jagged outcropping of rock just off
the coast. It is accessible only during low tide. The temple itself
is quite modest, consisting of two shrines with tiered roofs (7
and 3), a few small buildings and two pavilions. Poisonous, black
sea snakes live between the rocks and in caves along the coast.
They guard the temple, but give the site a reputation of being
"dangerous." Nevertheless many Balinese love to sit
on the beach or on a bluff overlooking the temple in the la afternoon,
watching the tides change and enjoying the silhouettes of the
temple meru against the brilliant setting sun.

SERANGAN ISLAND BEACH TOUR (8 Hours)
A brief drive to Suwung
outrigger awaits to take you to the nearby SERANGAN Island for
relaxing on its white sandy beach and swimming. This tour can
be done at high tide with a sailing boat from SANUR.
Details
About Serangan
Island :
Serangan is a small island lying just off Bali's southern coast
near Sanur. It has an area of only 180 acres and a population
of about 2,500, and is known principally for its turtles and its
important Sakenan Temple. Serangan is too dry for wet rice farming,
but its residents grow corn, maize, peanuts and beans. Some islanders
earn a living making shell trinkets to sell to the tourists who
come here in ever increasing numbers. But the trade in another
distinctive item is even more crucial to the local economy. The
sea turtles which give Serangan its popular name are not found
swimming picture squely under ocean cliffs - here they are caught
and sold as food. People in the Denpasar area are fond of turtle
meat, especially on festival days. Serangan residents make a living
capturing and wholesaling the creatures, also buying them from
Muslim fishermen from islands to the east.

Details
About Bedugul
:
High in the central ranges of west Bali, a cool mountain retreat
nestles in the crater of an extinct volcano. Here lies placid
Lake Bratan, source of life-giving water for the springs, rivers
and ricefields below. Verdant tropical rainforests blanket the
hills, which at 1400 m above sea level provide temperatures several
degrees lower than the plains 11°C to 30°C. Few tourists
stop to explore Bedugul and Lake Bratan on journeys to and from
the north coast. But this little hideaway is well known to long-term
Bali residents for its delightful scenery, spectacular mountain
walks and many other recreation opportunities. The road to Bedugul
leads west and north from Denpasar through Mengwi, taking an hour
and a half to reach the top. As it winds up the mountain, magnificent
views stretch back over the lowlands to the coast and across to
the misty peaks of Bali's volcanoes - Agung, Abang and Batur to
the east. To the west, deep gorges border tiers of jungle foliage
below the hazy peak of Mt. Batukaru.

About Uluatu
Temple :
South of Jimbaran, the road climbs steeply up several switchbacks
onto Bukit Badung Plateau, offering dramatic panoramas back up
the beach to the rice lands and the volcanoes on a clear day.
All around the southern and western edges of the plateau, limestone
cliffs tower above a pounding surf 70 meters (250 feet) below.
This is where Bali's best surfing is found - particularly famous
are the waves at Suluban, Labuhan Sait and Bingin. The Bukit's
most famous landmark is Pura Luhur Uluwatu, an exquisite monument
situated on a headland at the westernmost tip of the peninsula.
The carvings, which decorate the temple, are very well preserved
in comparison to many of Bali's temples, due to the extremely
hard, dark gray coral stone used in its construction.
