Ardjuna, JI. Iman Bonjol 51, Rp1500 single or double. Swank new
Hotel Rahaju, JI. Iman Bonjol (next to Hotel Ardjuna), Rp2500
for two. Hotel Oewa-Asia, JI. Iman Bonjol, Rp1000- a former big
colonial hotel. One of the guards will offer the services of a
masseuse (male or female) for Rp500. Inclusive in the price, get
served weakened coffee and a watery egg the next morning. Closer
to the bus station is Losmen Srimulia, JI. Raden Ratah 76, Rp600;
and Hotel Jerita, JI. Let. Haryono, Rp1800. Both are comfortable.

buffet right next door to Hotel Oewa-Asia serves good es buahs.
Santana Restaurant and ice cream shop, excellent. For European,
Chinese, and Indonesian food try Den Restaurant, JI. Pemuda. Good
meal for Rp750, also the lightest cookies you'll ever taste and
other outstanding baked goods. At Hotel Dibaya Puri, beefsteak
Rp950. Chinese food is best on JI. Gajah Mada, try restaurant
Gadjah Mada for their seafood. Good cheap place to eat is Pasar
Ya'ik (open at night) next to Pasar Johar (open in the daytime)
for special Semarang dishes such as soto ayam (Rp25(, sate ayam,
sate kerang (oyster sate, Rp25 per stick). Tropical fruits at
Pasar Johar; rambutans, salak, blimbing, durian (big one for Rp250(.
You got to try masrochan at Rp10 each, like a banana fritter taco;
originates in Semarang. Lots of small restaurants around Klinteng
Chinese temple. Gang Lombok off JI. Pekojan for great Chinese
food. JI. Depok is also popular for its eating stalls at night.
