Stay and eat: About 8 losmens in Dieng village, some with wooden balconies overlooking it all, some provide quilts. Go to the biggest warung. This man runs the tourist info service and also rents rooms in a house up on the hill above his losmen; they cost Rp200 (half the /osmen's price). This hill is the best place to stay because of the view, and you live with the family. He serves tahu so rich and creamy that it tastes like cheese! Another popular losmen is the Gunung Mas, Rp400-800. Has electricity. A-Sri, Mekarsopi, and Losmen Sederhana all have Rp500 rooms. Eat at Hotel Soto, nasi goreng, Rp100. The restaurant next to the new /osmen serves nasi sayur for Rp50 and vegetable and mushroom soup, Rp175.
