Candi Banyuniba: S.E. of the Ratu Baka complex. After Ratu Baka, turn left and walk 1 km. You'll see the temple near a small village on the other side of a gully. Beautifully carved double makara-motif is above the niche which frames a seated female deity. Three stone oxen stand in a row. You can see the spaces where the most important sculpture has been robbed. Most of the roof is missing. A statue of a goddess points to Java's ancient links with Ceylon, some believe, in its strong facial and bodily form, very reminiscent of India. An almost duplicate goddess can be found in a niche above the entrance of the House of Pilgrims behind the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy, Sri Lanka. Other temples on this ridge line are reached by crossing the river beyond Candi Banyunibo and climbing the hill: Candi Ijo, Candi Mtring, Candi Tinjong
