Transport: Hire a becak to see the different temple sites. Keep your pack in the souvenir shop and guard's house at the entrance of the museum before setting out, Rp50 for the service. Starting price to 5 sites: Candi Berahu, Candi Waringan Lawang, Makam Trolojo, Candi Tikus and Sanggar Pamelengai, is Rp1500 (or even lower if you bicker). This komp/et tour is a good deal because just for Candi Tikus and back they want Rp1000. By foot it would take you about 3-4 hours to see all the more important temples, or 2-3 hours by becak.

No matter which temple you visit, a visitor's book will materialize and you'll be asked to donate money. Kids will come up and sell you authentic 500 year old Majapahit relics and terra cotta figurines for RplOO-500. The walk or ride to each temple down lanes of laughing children and people working padi is at least as satisfying as the temples themselves. stay: Spend the night in Mojokerto, 12 km N.E. of Trowulan, because there's no losmen in Trowulan village. If you're really keen perhaps you can stay on the open-air Pendopo Agung or sleep in the house of the head of the museum.
