Quite close to the bus station but extremely nasty is Losmen Merdeka, Rp300; they are a boat and bus agency as well. Losmen Komodo costs Rp1000 but 4 people are allowed to share a room; this is the best. They serve fried rice for Rp200, slightly more expensive than other places, but more than palatable. This losmen lies near the sultan's palace which is now a university. Rumah Makan Nirvana and Rumah Makan Anda, both near the bus station, have long menus and serve so-so Chinese food. vicinity of Bima: Visit the traditional village of Donggo outside of Bima. There's also a swimming pool mule hills. On Banta Island, between Bima and Komodo Island, giant turtles swim in a jade lagoon. Utter solitude. Makes you wish you had your own boat.
