Pemenang, Rp150 by bus or bemo; to Cakranegara, Rp25 by bemo;
to Labuhan Lombok, Rp300 by bus. Catch a ferry from Lembar, 35
km south of Ampenan, to Bali's Padangbai each day, Rp1200-1500.

boat( can be bought just past where they sell tickets for the
Tiga Mas. Try for a student discount. vicinity of Ampenan: Along
the coast are temples and holy places, but nothing spectacular.
There's a nice beach outside of Ampenan; take your bicycle, walk
or take a bemo, Rp50. Rent motorbikes for Rp1000-1500 per day;
pushbikes are also available for rent. Ride around both towns
of Ampenan and Mataram by pushbike. Get a lift up the Lombok mountains
by bemo (Rp100 extra for the bicycle), then just coast back down.
It's a fine motorbike trip too. Batu Bolong: 2 hours by pushbike
from Ampenan. A temple sits on a cliff that juts out over a quiet
beach. The 'Hollow Stone' temple is underneath. Gunung Pengsong:
7 km south of Matsram. Climb up to the monkey temple on a hill
1 km from the mountain; very quiet and a beautiful panorama looking
over the towns below.
