Besides the road transversing Sumbawa from Sape to Jareweh, the island is covered in foot tracks. A twisting bumpy trail follows Sumbawa's north coast. During the wet months Nov.-April, there are many washed out, rotted bridges. Floods sometimes occur between late Nov. and Feb. which could carry shacks, fences, and cattle down to the ocean.
