The night train from Tanjungkarang to Perabumulih with a student discount costs Rp2250. There are great showers in this small midway transit town for Rp25, and the cheapest and best meals in the dozen or so restaurants in the village. This is a pineapple growing area so you get as many as 10 for Rp100. Sederhana Losmen is only Rp400. There are many losmens but don't pay more than Rp400. from Perabumulih' The 3rd class train is Rp450 with a student's card from Perabumulih to Lubuklinggau, leaving at 10 am or after, and arrives about 11 hours later; the seats are horrible.
