Mengwi Temple, Monkey Forest & Tanah Lot Tour

A journey to visit Balinese countryside, and stop at Mengwi Royal Temple – Pura Taman Ayun. Originally dating from 1634, this picturesque temple complex, surrounded by a moat, has an elaborate stone entrance gate. It’s well-kept grassy courtyards boast numerous pavilions and multi-roofed MERU shrines with carved wooden gates.
Then proceed to the sacred Monkey Forest, a cluster of towering trees which are home to hundreds of monkeys who go about their ways fearlessly in their temple haven, and hundreds of fruit bats who sleep by day and hunt by night.

Then drive to the venerable temple of Tanah Lot. It is probably one of Bali’s most holy sites. Build in 15th century, Tanah Lot Temple is perched precariously on an eroded rocky outcrop, connected to the shore only at low tide. As the tide rushes in, the isle become completely surrounded by water, adding to the mystery and beauty of the temple and its location. This fantastic setting overlooking the Indian Ocean, has made it known as the most photographed temple in Bali.
